The Role and Responsibilities of the Equipment Officer

The Equipment Officer ASADA is responsible for providing advice on dive equipment related matters to the Committee. His specific areas of responsibility include the following:

  • Liaise with Bicester on the Diving Equipment Pool.
  • Liaise with expeditions on the availability and serviceability of equipment used.
  • Liaise with ATG(A) on equipment issues.
  • Review BSAC equipment related advice.
  • Review Army diving incidents for equipment related issues and make recommendations as appropriate.

He / she is to be a member of the ASADA Executive Committee and is to attend the AGM and all other ASADA Committee meetings. 


Mick's Profile

Mick is 36 years old and has been diving since 1992. Mick is a Joint Services Sub Aqua Diving Supervisor (SADS), BSAC Open Water Instructor (OWI) and PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT).


In his military career he has been a Senior Diving Instructor at the Defence Diving School, teaching Military Divers to commercial standards and is an Army Diving Supervisor.

He has dived in the Red Sea and Gibraltar, however prefers to dive year round naked in UK waters such as Scapa Flow and Plymouth sound.
